50 Cent-Eminem Sleepover Yields New Tracks!
50 Cent has been hitting the studio with BFF Eminem to record a few songs for his upcoming album.
"Dre sent over a bunch of beats, and we're just going through them all, picking out who wants what," the G-Unit chief told Blender from Eminem's Detroit home, where he was spending the night. "We already finished one joint"--the Slim Shady-starring "Norman Bates Motel"--"and just started vocals on another. It's gonna blow you away, I guarantee."
Before I Self Destruct, 50's fourth album, is due December 9.

50 Cent Says Lil Wayne’s “Lollipop” Is Just Like “Candy Shop”
50 Cent digs Lil Wayne, but he can’t help but notice the similarities between Weezy’s summer smash “Lollipop” and his own 2005 hit “Candy Shop.” “‘Lollipop’” is ‘lick lick lick lick it like a lollipop,’” 50 told Rolling Stone, singing the verse to prove his point. “And ‘Candy Shop’ is ‘I’ll take you to the Candy Shop/ I’ll let you lick the lollipop.’”
Rip-off or not, 50 is no longer spinning Wayne’s track — or any other rappers’, for that matter. “”I’m not really listening to anyone else’s records,” he says, adding that his new album, Before I Self-Destruct, will drop by the end of the year. “Now I’m in another space where I gotta make what I’m excited about.”
50 is mum on the details of his new disc — the last on his contract with Interscope Records — but he promises to shake things up. “[Other rappers] can take what I’ve done for the last five years and do their version of it and be successful with momentum,” he says. “Meanwhile, I have to reinvent the wheel.”

Lola Luv Starring In Flick With 50 Cent
Hip-Hop model Angel "Lola Luv" Fershgenet is furthering her career in film with a co-starring movie role with G-Unit front man 50 Cent.
Fershgenet confirmed her work with the rapper during a recent interview with Blok TV.
Although she didn’t specify details surrounding the project, the model/actress revealed that the feature, titled Before I Self Destruct, is being produced and directed by 50 Cent, who also stars in the movie with Clifton Powell.
According to Fershgenet, the movie will be released "probably by the end of this year." Before I Self Destruct is one of a string of projects on deck for Fershgenet.
In addition to modeling, the rap video fixture is embarking on a career as an artist in the world of music.
When asked to describe her foray into music, Fershgenet stated that she would pursue rapping rather than singing.
"I got too much swagger to do anything else anyway," she said smiling.
Fershgenet’s new rap ambitions comes after her first film Crazy Like a Fox, debuted earlier this month at the 12th Annual American Black film Festival (ABFF) in Los Angeles.
Although she doesn’t have a single coming out right now, Fershgenet did confirm that fans will get a musical offering from her before the end of the year.
"I’m working on my mixtape….I’m doing it all. I’m versatile," she said, "So definitely doing it all. Modeling, acting, music. All."
In addition to working with Fershgenet on Before I Self Destruct, 50 Cent will be seen alongside big screen icons Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro in the upcoming film Righteous Kill, which is slated to hit theaters on September 12.

Prodigy - Product of the 80’s (snippets)
New York… The 1980’s. Crack-Cocaine. Reaganomics. The Cold War. The Iran-Contra scandal. U.S. Recession. The birth of graffiti and break-dancing. The birth of hip-hop…
1980’s New York was a nefarious era, landscaped in political turmoil and economic crisis. But out of this same wreckage, came the necessity for creative impulse and the musical style of Rap was born. Prodigy, Big Twins, and Un Pacino each were raised in this era. Born in the late 70’s, they grew up in a culture steeped in controversy and contradiction. Each walked a path through the rotted streets by any means necessary. Violence, poverty, drugs and indulgence were part and parcel. This project harkens back to this epoch through the frontline survivors themselves. Likewise, the contributing producers draw exclusively from the records that were garnered in that fundamentally diametric period. Welcome to the Product of the 80’s.
In the months leading up to his incarceration, Prodigy, from the legendary group Mobb Deep, conjured a prolific body of work. From videos to songs to interviews, he fought to bring his message to the frontlines once again. Through the lyrical savage of the HNIC2 LP and his constant explicative blog entries on numerous websites, Prodigy has connected to his fans in a unique way. He slammed opened the creative floodgates to assure that his position in the rap game was asserted and the presence of a legend was remembered during his bid. But this recent approach is invigorated because, although Mobb Deep are the penultimate purveyors of NY murder-rap, that true dark street theme music, Prodigy has also always explored politics and conspiracy with as much fervor. Now, he is wearing his world-views on his sleeve more than ever, because P is quite clearly a victim of this American system. He was bagged in a hiphop-cop sting and then incarcerated on corroborated lies by the same officers. Needless to say, he is quite aware of the nuances of Babylon. So, in 2008, the current climate of the world lines up to Prodigy’s individual experience in a symbiotic way and parallels the gravity of the era in which he was raised. It fuels his creative fire and lends to his arsenal of material, because, for him, it is a necessity and a destiny to be making this music and it is a responsibility to pull the wool from the eyes of the masses.
In the creative period of 2008, Prodigy made a home at Dirt Class Studios in Brooklyn. Often he arrived alone and left alone. There was no entourage, there were no groupies. It became his momentary sanctuary for writing and recording. The duo of Joey and Bravo (better known as Sid Roams) hosted these sessions and provided the bulk of the soundtrack. The chemistry was evident and they began churning out a copia of material. It was clear that a collaborative project was in the works but as Prodigy’s time swiftly approached, the HNIC2 LP (a second chapter to his debut solo work) took precedence. Prodigy picked a collection of tracks from these sessions to supplement the work of Alchemist and Havoc and formulated the album that is now HNIC2. The remaining material is what is presented in Dirt Class Records’ Product of the 80’s. Accompanied by Dirt Class cohorts Big Twins & Un Pacino, the project is a true collaboration of the three Queens natives. Prodigy leads the charge appearing on all of the 14 songs. Twins & Un each spatter the LP with their own signature styles. Production duties are deftly handled by Sid Roams, JakeOne, and Sebb.

Producer Conference Comes To Miami, Sha Money XL & The Runners Serve As Panelists
Hip-Hop mega producers Sha Money XL, Cool & Dre, The Runners and others will be making history at Miami’s first annual Beats on the Beach music seminar this fall.
Production company iStandard and DBHH Management created the producer-influenced event, expected to serve as a networking opportunity for industry insiders and up-and-coming people to meet one another.
“If you guys are serious about yourself, invest in yourself, get down here [and] make it to Miami,” iStandard’s J Hatch said in a statement. “We’re looking to have beat battles on the beach, showcases on the beach, panels on the beach. So be a part of it, man.”
The seminar will feature panelists Sha Money and The Runners alongside A&R reps including Shady’s Riggs Morales and Interscope West’s Danny Carter. Co-signing the company’s initiative, Sha exclusively told SOHH that fans should have high expectations.
“Anything masterminded and brought to you by iStandard is gonna be a great opportunity for anyone seeking knowledge [and] connects in the industry,” Hatch explained.
All nominees will be competing for recognition and various luxury prizes including a $4,000 keyboard.
"We’re giving away a Roland Fantom G6 to the winner of the producer showcase,” Hatch added. “We’re doing some major, major stuff that’ll all be announced through the website, battleofthebeats.com.”
The event’s website promises to “feature some of the most exhilarating interactive workshops and industry panels, producer and artist showcases, live “poolside” documentaries, sponsor & vendor exhibits” and a lot more.
Interested artists and producers will have an August 29th deadline to submit their works for consideration. If chosen, nominees will all be notified by September 1st with event instructions.
Beats on the Beach will take place October 9-11 in Miami, Florida.

50 Cent Filming Movie For New Album, Planning New Book
50 Cent is reportedly filming a movie to coincide with his upcoming album titled Before I Self Destruct.
According to The Bergen County, 50 has been shooting the film in Paterson, New Jersey for the past week. The film is also titled Before I Self Destruct.
As reported earlier, 50 plans to drop Before I Self Destruct later this year and it will be his final album on his current deal with Interscope Records.
He also plans on dropping a book titled The 50 Laws of Power which will be the rapper's spin of Robert Greene's The 48 Laws of Power.

Mobb Deep Says Their Manager Wreaked Havoc!
Members of rap group Mobb Deep say their ex-manager jacked their tunes without permission and now they want to get paid!
Deep-ers Prodigy and Havoc -- that's Albert Johnson and Kejuan Muchita to their mothers -- say ex-manager Norman Bell used their recordings on "best of" albums they never authorized. Albums, they say, they didn't get paid for. They say Bell, who calls himself "Purfek Storm," owes them over a million bucks in back royalties.
